In March we have opened a new construction site in a village called Ig near capital Ljubljana, Slovenia. We build a new glass-house, which is noted by beautiful wooden construction, transparent glass surfaces and wood joinery with triple glazing.
We are creating a new home that will have 180 m2 of living space. The majority of the ground floor will present an open and a bright living room with dining area and kitchen; next to it there are a working cabinet, a heating room and storage beside the kitchen and under a staircase. Upstairs there are three nice children’s room and a bedroom, which is connected through a wardrobe to the bathroom. A balcony is hidden under a wide jutting roof and offers a nice place to rest or just beautiful views to the countryside.
From the view of energy savings and a view of comfort, we can say that we upgraded the glass house with the installation of insulation materials made of wood fibers in the roof structure. With these materials we increased a thermal stability of the building for several times. High energy savings and a comfort are even higher with joinery with triple glazing, which is externally fully protected with aluminum masks. Shading is provided with external Venetian blinds, which offer protection from sunlight and an overheating. Beside that we are able to control the amount of light and privacy with controlling an angle of the blinds.
